Wow! This one is the super MOM* of all space missions,
A confluence of multiple top scientific brains and visions!

As Mangalyaan Spacecraft soared majestically into the space,
It signalled yet another milestone in India’s interplanetary forays...

This first ever, historic Indian space odyssey to the Planet Mars,
Is the result of the unstinted efforts and hard work of our ISRO** stars.

An entire nation salutes and bows in respect to the scientists of ISRO
For this successful mission, while they still have miles and miles to go!

*MOM – Mars Orbiter Mission – a 300 days, 400 million Kms voyage to the Red Planet

TO: Ms. Padmaja Itengar
I was just reading Sam Rajappa's article 'Mission to Mars' in The Statesman this morning. The bone of contention of his article is, Mangalyaan will garner little beyond NASA' data. Mangalaan has more publicity value than otherwise. ISRO should have stressed more on development of the basics in Space Science in China's line where there is a huge gap in India. He also touched upon 'superstition' which is in' inherent in ISRO's culture while they very much rely o Almanac and dating their programs on the auspicious days which is in contrast with scientific spirit. I can't help sharing Sam's views.

Hello Padmaja-ji.
Are you an inhabitant of Mars that you are so thrilled with this Indian adventure? Read somewhere that this mission is the cheapest as compared to what the Yankees and others have done. Shame to them. That is great and you as a patriotic Indian like me has every right to exult over what the ISRO guys have done (I won't say achieved - as only time can tell that.). But let us both go to the nearest Ganesha temple to appease the Great Lord so that this great MOM of a MOM escapes mom earth's gravity and travels past the Van Allen asteroid belt to the great warrior planet Mangal, whose position in the birth-charts of many have marred their marital felicity. Great write mom of a great son. Keep it up. But check in your horo where Mangal stands - he he he.
