Fair and Lovely

Let’s get over the silly obsession
For beauty and a fair complexion.
To get a fair and lovely face
Here are some simple ways...

Banish all thoughts petty and mean
With a sensitive heart and mind clean.
As doubts and negativity go fleeing
Our face reflects a new human being.

As good thoughts and feelings spring,
They on our face mellowness bring,
That makes our appearance gentle,
That’s reflection of a glow mental.

The goodness of mind and heart
Plays a very important part
In making one fair and lovely
And giving a demeanour lively!

So throw away all those creams,
That sell unreal fairness dreams.
Let positive thoughts and feelings flow
To give the face a calm and serene glow!

Padmaja lovely poem...loved it ..so very true inner beauty gives more glow on face than anything else. The image is so beautiful and lovely just cant take away my eyes from it. Thanks Padmaja for wonderful poem . Thanks Aparnajee for sharing this wonderful image which has given delight to soul.

Thank you very, very much Ru, Kulbir and Dr. Mallick for your generous words of appreciation. These thoughts were my safety valve against a barrage of epithets that stuck with me since my school days of 'Blackie', 'Kali Madrasan' (studied in a Maharashtrian School at Nagpur) and of course 'Fatso'...!!! But my own sense of humour always made me laugh these comments off...As I used turn and ask the boys 'So, bloody what, man?"
