Boats are Bound

The boats have come ashore,
As the lamps, flames and temple bells,
Prepare to retire in the arms of prayers.
Sailor has gathered sails and departed,
Footprint trails left on unending sands,
Have tied the boats in endless fetters.

Skies have borrowed fishermen's lamps,
For breeze to collect words of the poet,
Clouds will cover and put them to sleep.
Oars and anchor are resting too,
Comforting dreams of the sails,
Tides will soon rise, and
Waves will carry waiting footprints,
Far beyond the horizon to rest in ocean's lap,
Ecstatic, drenched and satiated,
Sands will also fall asleep now,
Will the boats be redeemed then?

Who will redeem the boats?
Voyage, voyagers and the waves,
Sands, footprints and the flickering lamps,
Have always kept them bound,
Their destination too kept bound,
By the echoing songs of the sailor.
Yes, the boats are bound,
As I have often seen,
When will the boats be redeemed?
Who will redeem the boats?
