You and Me

What you were hesitant to give
I didn’t have courage to take it
We remained helpless and silent
Through love, friendship and pain.

While your love and friendship
Remained a source of inspiration
To cope with the vagaries of life
And to live with an aim lifelong…

The pain that you left behind -
My closest companion and ally
So long as it continues to thrive
It gives me a feeling I’m still alive.
