I Don't Write...

I don’t write poetry
To be immortal in books

I write that to remind myself
Of my promises with sorrows

Poetry doesn't come to me
Like those unsolicited emails

It comes like an earthquake
And leaves me in chaos of life

I tease out the tangle of words
And then array them into poetry

I don’t write poetry to be a poet
But to scrub all the unpoetic in me

I write poetry to seed my feelings
In the fallow soil to prove my fertility
