Losing A Soulmate

During the journey of life
The travelers meet and part
Only to leave behind memories
To pine in their loneliness.

I lost in tears someone
Who was at one time mine
I had so cheerily accepted
This stranger in my life.

We won't come together again
But gloom in the surrounding
Will keep on ever reminding
Unfinished saga time and again.

Far away in your bright life
You shall be lost as stranger, and
I shall struggle to live without you
The punishment of death alone.
