Theme: Rejection

Rejection

This feeling by which I’m haunted,
That I am no longer here wanted,
Is both upsetting and bone-chilling,
Is demeaning and self-worth killing.

I have loved and badly lost,
Like garbage I’ve been tossed.
This rejection is the worst strife,
That I’ve faced in my entire life.

Cast aside as useless,
Rejected as worthless,
My shelf life is now over,
Above me, eagles hover.

My life has crossed expiry date,
For a Higher Call I eagerly wait.
This waiting is something I hate.
My name awaits the prefix “Late”.

(After the poem Love posted on 24 Jun'14, tried to visualize what a rejection would be like...!)

Comment Padmaja, please do not be so disheartened for do you remember the nursery rhyme, 'Row row row a boat, gently down the stream/merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.'
