Birthday Present

Never knew till yesterday
when my loved ones
gave me a magnifying glass
to remind me of
my age or shaking attention.
 
I refuse to see
beyond the objective
my loved ones can’t see beyond me.
 
This birthday present
has the power to bloat a small
meaningless distance.
But as time grows
my trinity would
sail where I have plodded.
 
My gift and the distance
would then find
meaning at the same rendezvous.
