Hiccups

  Nervous and worried
He enquired from the pharmacist
If he had something for hiccups.
The pharmacist was prompt.
In response to his query,
He slapped him hard on his face...

Angry, he demanded an explanation
As to why he has misbehaved...
The pharmacist was cool in his reply,
I'm sure you don't have hiccups anymore.
To this came his embarrassed response
No, but it's my wife who still has it.

(Based on a forwarded joke from a friend)
