The night is quiet
As you breathe
softly on my cheek
Innocence enveloped
in little fingers
Wrapped around mine

Two faces yours n’ mine
Stained with wiped tears..

The ache in my throat
Reflected in your occasional sighs
Wish I could take the pain from you
Your pang as much mine too

Thought of leaving you,
Being away from you
Your smile,
your tantrums..
..You..

I wish I too
Could share the sorrow
Of how it feels to
go away from you
Like you shared
yours with me
Moments ago

But I’ve got to be
the stronger,
The elder,
the wiser,
the mature one..

In that special corner of your heart
