Happy Diwali

Dear God,

Enlighten me to spread joy and love,
To bring a smile on someone’s face,
To be a shelter for a lonesome soul,
To fill somebody’s life with grace!

May I make someone happy today,
May I remain humble and polite,
May I brighten up somebody’s day,
Wherever it is dark, let there be light!

Let us celebrate a noiseless and safe Diwali,
The poor animals are affected by the noise,
Joining hands let us care for the deprived,
Let humanity bloom with kindness and poise!
