The cuckoos have started cooing sweetly
From the shades of the trees
Telling of the herald of spring.

The palash trees will be leafless laden
With the clusters of ornate
And reddish blossoms.

The simul trees in bud with the vultures
Sitting over the branches
With the blossoms big-big and red.

The golden buds will glisten
As the new leaves come out,
The sal trees in blossom redolent.
