Blue slide, little star,
my muse so shy
where do you go
when I need you most?

Pure sweet, no heat
just a smooth and blue slide
down that right note.

Heart’s beat meets me
somewhere out there
beyond the glow
and you seem to always know.

Why do you leave me
when I need you most?
Are you always there,
just watching over me
or do you go
to another rendezvous?

It’s not love, I know.
Something bigger
than you and me.

Just a beat, right there,
in the centre of it all,
my pleading, needing
heartbeat.

That crystal tear
down my cheek
is nothing new.
Just another unanswered question,
waiting for you,
little star,
just waiting for you.

Choirs sing
and sing again
the same refrain
for you.

Don’t ever leave me for long

for without you
I am incomplete,
spent, deplete.
