The Rose In My Room

The rose in my room
Is proud of its bloom
And happy to see
It can enchant me.

But it also knows
It's just a rose
And loses its ground
When you're around.

Then it has no chance
Of catching my glance -
I make it my duty
To savor your beauty.

I savor your voice
And simply rejoice;
I savor your smile -
My blessings pile.

The rose feels bad,
Perhaps even sad,
And waits, no doubt,
For you to step out.
