The wall
was strong
took many blows
yet
didn't break
for
there seemed
too much at stake
but
the fissures were
far too many to conceal
the damage
far too deep to heal
light streaming in
through the holes
air whispering 
to its shaky poles
the wall surrendered
all fear of holding on
embraced the wind's song
and the light's glow
beholden no more
it had found its freedom
before the final blow...
