Reason to Smile

My heart cries out
to see the things that are left,
Lust, rancor and deceit
life offers at its best.

Solitude, peace and prosperity
are all very hard to find,
Pain, hunger and tension
is all that's left for mankind.

That era of happiness
is lost forever, I fear,
I have cried a lot that no longer
can I shed another tear.

It is so sad to see that
in our race against time,
all we are searching for
is "a Reason to Smile !"
