the news broke
of a supernova.

Hundreds of millions of light years away
fresh as a carnation
picked of choice.

Stupendous gamma ray power
of less impact here
than a radio frequency.

A carnival
its echoes reverberate
as nothingness.

Almost as it was discovered
academic
turned into a picture.
