Trust

A magazine at the doctor’s waiting room
With a picture of a young lady in a bathing costume
“Trust nobody” said she, although she wasn’t a tech
“All but your mother; for all others, do a background check!”

It first struck me as a hyperbole,
From a lady whose mind was in a cubbyhole
But on reading through I realized
A businesswoman was she, success idealized

A garment label she had created,
Was known all over, but none ever sated;
Women who bought her garments,
Crooned eternally over its subtle accents

Like I said, it did strike as odd,
That I couldn't even trust God?
But on reminiscing; hey, it does ring true,
So I allowed the truth to entirely imbue

People will remain people
A few stand out like steeples
To them we owe our gratitude
They show us the way, for they live their attitude.
