The Sleeping Muse
by William Sorvillo

  Nameless faces looked on
as you reached for me
and we danced across the floorless ballroom.
I saw the beauty in your every footstep,
every bending of your skin,
in your eyelids and your fingers.
I wanted to smell you once again,
to press you close to me
and scream
"How wonderful it is to be alive!"
But instead,
I awoke.
