The Other

At the heart of my existence
There is no essence
But différance
That emerges
When the ‘other’ confronts me
And collapses when s/he retreats.
 
I wish to stand outside
The system of différance
But find only play,
A ploy or
A posthumous note
That is neither here nor there.
