Theme: Apology

Barnacled Jargon

Do not just write a poem
Be with it, as with an indisposed friend
Pen each verse with a lot of care
And hope, it's better by the end.

Let not all writing be concise
Leave some room for a courteous phrase
A grace note too as touch of oil
To let verses swing without a squeaking trace

But students, scholars and lettered friends
Barnacled with jargon, verses write
They bruise the trash bin they go into
While clueless sits the reader tight.
