Theme: Experience

I Celebrate

I celebrate
not by driving in supersonic speed
on a six-lane track to leave behind
moments, like trees, we shall never again find

I shall instead trek a hill with her
to chase a mountain butterfly,
watch a monkey swinging on a bower
or a parrot pricking a ripe fruit on the tree

I shall celebrate a monsoon shower
wiping the water off her face,
when she looks up with hair down
and eyes closed for a loving caress

Walking on the morning dews in autumn
I shall celebrate in getting into her shawl,
and with care stamping her delicate feet
to end up in a romantic momentary brawl

I celebrate watching a couple of pigeons
basking fearless just a foot away from me,
they leave a message in this busy world
what kindness, care and love could be!

Moments of love, moments of care
fill our lives with great joy,
Minutes of sunshine, a passing cloud
and afternoon drizzles can make a lovely day...

Comment Thanks, Aditi for your appreciation and suggestion. The last stanza I have included as a learning for me, i.e. love has tought me this. Please suggest something more concrete so that I can do something.

Comment Nice writing! I especially love your starting lines..! But maybe the last verse could be better..more meaningful, rather than general...
