The New Year’s Maze

Walk through last year’s maze
In a fountain of light,
Traversing cunning labyrinths
Panting like Daedalus,
Cutting across desire
Creating ingenuous passages,
Lit by the artifice of language
And retrace those steps
Through skeins of fantasies
Skirting the Cretan Minotaur and  
Welcoming the New Year
With the false hope of
Inheriting a civilized world!
