Every Day My Thoughts Are Filled…

Every day my thoughts are filled
with who's and what's and why's
I fear my mind will never rest
calm won't be realized.

The little one who meant so much
who owns part of my soul.
Oh little boy who blessed me so
you were hard to let go.

The darkest times, the deepest depths
I once knew without map
and having been and seen the dark
I'm never going back.

Those dearest me, those nearest me
oh how I cherish you!
Your smiles bring my heart up to speed
your words are always new.

The simple things that light the way
for creative reflection.
A singing bird, a bright full moon
all things for introspection.

The numbers that assault my peace
in this computer age
are powerless before my dreams
and thus lose all their rage.

The din of thinking deafens me
my mind it is a riot.
And not but a soft spoken sleep
can bring me peace and quiet
