Our Modernity

We no longer go out into the world
To mess with mermaids or Cyclops
We do not strive to seek ourselves like Ulysses
But we sit at our computer tables
And invent ourselves.
 
We are never liberated
By our sexual fantasies or demonizing others
We just create a Baudelarian attitude
To relate to digital reality
And valorize the present.
