Theme: Emotions

Love and Lust

Myriad days have I spent sleeplessly
Loneliness whispered “he won’t come”,
But I paid no heed to solitude’s warnings,
And kept my hopes alive despite being lonesome.

Sullen darkness surrounded me regularly,
Tears built their abode in my restless eyes,
But it hardly mattered to me anyways
As long as I thought true love never dies.

Seldom could I find myself some peace
I boozed daily and was led astray
But I still had that strong belief in me
That you’ld understand my feelings one day.

Two and a half years passed with ups and downs,
With relentless heart breaks and sighs,
But I did not give a damn to all those
As long as I thought true love never dies.

Suddenly one day you gave up to my love,
Making me the happiest lass on earth,
I dreamt ecstatic dreams of you and me
Till I knew it was lust only and of no worth.

Can’t believe my love surrendered to your lust
Where your lust should’ve submitted to my love,
Now that I know the harsh reality of love and lust,
I wanna seek death from the God watching above.

No more do I hope, no longer can I dream of you,
Your lust has shattered my love’s belief
My heart has broken forever into pieces;
And to take away my pain, death is the only relief!
