Ganga At Dawn

When you walk in her temperate waters
She kneads your feet with her sand and
Washes the torpor of summer.

She makes you conscious of
The frogs, crickets and the teals,
Riding her lapping waves and

Slowly she takes away the canker
From the heart and replaces it
With the immaculate touch of dawn.
