It wasn't that hard, it wasn't
you could have done it
if you would have just tried to understand
but you did understand
So then why didn't you?
why didn't you hold me while I cried
like you used to?
it wasn't that hard
you knew the words, just had to say them
knew what I needed to hear
the way I needed some reassurance
some sunshine in the darkness around me
you could have given it, why didn't you?
its been so long since we talked, have you even noticed it?
I think not
you were all I needed, my closest friend
more than that
always the reminder of what I had
when I cried to think of what I had lost
it wasn't that hard, or was it?
perhaps I got so used to you always being there
selfishly forgot there were other things
other bonds, other commitments, other obligations
but if you just had
just held my hand, just whispered those few words
if you would have just convinced me of your love
you might have saved me..
