Soul Untainted

Contaminated you call her
the source of this contamination do you know not?
the insatiable hunger which gnaws at your bodies
which seethes under the facade of your complacency
your so-called superiority 

Contaminated she is; is she?
satisfying her own hunger with your lust
filling her belly with your hunger
in your hunger is her salvation
in your dissipation -her life 

A whore is that woman
but a woman of strength is she
marketing the only marketable commodity she has
to resist the assault of hunger
while you satisfy your own 

A fallen woman-a prostitute
but a woman striving to live
a woman chaste in her very own way
you can buy her body at a price
but do you dare to touch her soul? 

You indulge in carnal pleasures
but the woman in her is untouched
stands alone proud and untainted
like a lotus in a mud-filled pond
the sludge is not her destiny-it is your legacy.
