Is There Pain?

Where is that warm comfortable feeling 
I have when I am near you. 
Where are my hugs and kisses and tender touch? 
The pain hurts so much 
it radiates through my body with such hurt 
and force down to my toes.

Is it only Pain or is there hope!

Will there be sunshine, 
warmth, and glow on that tree. 
Will there be a bud of life on that tree 
or just another limb in a cold hard winter...

There are expectations, 
desire and longing 
will these be met? 
Will there be that electric current 
running through my body again.

Where there is pain
there is hope 
and then there is life. 
This must be the job of living.

Or is it a job or gratification. 
Is it my duty 
or is it the simple pleasure of living 
and enjoying what life has to offer.
