Ziggurat of Human Suffering

She rises earlier than
our earliest
oblitering any hindrance to
our placid dreams delicate skin
and cherished comfort
with poignancy of
half sleep
scattered dreams
she has acquainted herself with
that dry tap
and hand pump nearby
her haggard plaintive eyes
follow me in my busiest moments
History of human suffering
Bloated corpse of RIGOBERTA MENCHU
is laid /lead
from Guatemala to Andes
from primitive jungles to
our bedrooms
between blanks of
crying and not crying
prostate are those moans
petrified
with her burdened loneliness
innocent solitude
she transgresses from
one silence to another silence
No prince charming
but empty dreams
Between her entwined lips
frightened eyebrows
miseries --- sorrows
Was a life
so vivacious
deep blue
full of passion
(flabbergasted were we ! )
Language meant diktat
spoken words were canine anger
Smile on her black rose lips
was a protracted boring anticipation
