Theme : Defiance
Daddy
by Annu Chopra

I change the dry flowers garland,
Around your portrait.
Every Diwali I take it down
Clean it and look at it.
Your smile frozen forever
On the portrait.

Daddy did you love me?
Or were you ashamed of me,
Because I was a woman,
With huge breasts which embarrassed you?

You liked your sons better,
Flat chested virile men,
Whom you looked on indulgently at,
When they sowed their seeds wildly,
Without the sanctity of marriage

And I was to be married off,
Before I lost my virginity to the scum,
Of the earth.

Daddy,
All your fault that,
You married me so young.
That is why I loose my virginity,
again and again
And again.
