snake-words –
faceless, nameless –
with enough power
to maim, to degrade.
Life empty
you play games
with reputations,
feed on curiosity,
dwell in maliciousness –
cruelty’s pastime.
Once heard
you gather strength
coiling your lies,
crushing victims,
leaving no trace
of poisonous scales.
No antidote survives
once unleashed,
but before it strikes
close your ears,
stop your tongue
and move on…
