But then you were not by my side.
What to tell you
I have anxiously waited all my life
In the flame of my song
Last night it flared in one dark moment
But then you were not by my side.
I thought before leaving
I’ll tell you in the morning
Sweet scents of flowers fill the air
And bird songs fill the sky
But my words are at odds with them all
However much I try
When you are by my side.
