 A New Sunrise

When the Sun goes down for the last time in the year,
It raises a new hope, by dispelling all fear.
A hope that there would be a new sunrise,
That the New Year would be a blessing in disguise.
A new year is a message not to fear change,
Whatever happens, is for the good – be it familiar or strange.
The dawn of a new year is a precursor to peace,
Which, once in a year, we get to seize.
A new year brings us new things to learn,
Getting us closer to the ones we yearn.
A new year cements old relations,
Not only between people, but also among nations.
A new year may bring us success galore,
And for greater opportunities, may open the door.
As the clock heralds the advent of the New Year,
Towards success, the ship of our life, let us steer.
