It was like Listening to Music
by Randy Johnson

It was like listening to music whenever she purred.
It was one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard.
I treasured all of the times she purred before...
But when I woke up yesterday, she wasn't purring anymore.

It was the day that all pet owners dread -
Tears came to my eyes because I knew she was dead.
As I buried her, it finally dawned on me that it's the end.
My heart is broken because I've lost my best friend.
