Theme : Celebration
I Shall Know All is Not in Vain
by Mukesh Williams

When I see the night shadows vanishing at dawn,
And church spires stretching to kiss the sky,
Then I shall know all is not in vain.

When I hear the laughter of children flying on a leaf,
And the twitter of sparrows scooping the wind,
Then I shall know all is not in vain.

When I see lichens catching small cracks in the walls,
And lilies sprouting in semi-arid land,
Then I shall know all is not in vain.

When I notice the beatified scattering miracles,
And erstwhile sinners spreading syncretistic belief,
Then I shall know all is not in vain.

When I see the blue mountain floating on its belly,
And the ego hiding under a lotus flower,
Then I shall know all is not in vain.

When I see contented frogs croaking in rice paddies,
Then I shall take to their slender ways,
For I shall know all is not in vain.
