The Meaning of Life

What is this life? Why are we here?
Why has He given us a brain to think?
Is it to torment us with meaningless thoughts?
Musings that take us to a bottomless sink!

I don't want to think, I wish to be carefree
Yet in dreams that keep coming back every night
Thoughts confront me of doing something meaningful
What is this purposeful life – I search for answers right

Why can't He leave me to wither away like the autumn leaves
Not getting involved, why do I feel the guilt and sadness
Tell me why You put me here amidst so much misery
What can I alone do to convert it to an oasis of happiness

It is not fair to put me here without a guiding path
In my search for the purpose I try and continuously falter
Perhaps there are no solutions and it's all a mirage
To fool us into believing that we can the world alter.
