Theme : Life
One Minute at the Traffic Signal
by Suman

One minute at the traffic signal
Life teaches me what life is
Tells me how easy it can be
Also that there are no freebies

One minute at the traffic signal....
And 'm mad at something he didn't care
I look around in sheer frustration
I see my "forgotten license" lying there! :-)

One minute at the traffic signal....
Now getting tougher as the weather gets hot
I put on the AC and a boy asks for money
For he's alone and parents exist not

One minute at the traffic signal....
I pity the boy and pay him a buck
He moves to another car and asks for money
With a new reason now, and cursing his luck!

One minute at the traffic signal....
The drivers get mad at the cart so slow
They look at their watches for the seconds they miss
The poor guy is scared with the horns that blow

One minute at the traffic signal....
Season cold, its dark...and I wait to turn it green
An old scar hurts, I curse God 'n' fate
And I shed a tear again, umpteen

One minute at the traffic signal....
Season cold, it's dark....and I await to turn it green
I roll up the windows and put on the heater
A beggar boy shivers, no clothes to be seen

One minute at the traffic signal....
And the serendipities, life can give
As I await there amidst hundreds of people
Only to learn....how lonely one can be

The three traffic lights, a funny game of life
The red and the amber.....they seem eternal !
Life is nothing but a wait till a green
Like the one minute at the traffic signal.
