A Prayer to River Ganga

I have worked hard with these hands
Ploughed the waters with the fishes,
Cultivated the skies together with the birds,
And crossed your currents
A number of times,
Both by bridge and by boat and
Look, you didn�t make me rich!

If this is what you want
I will offer a last prayer to you;
Gather me in your bosom
Where I can live together with fishes,
Occasionally soar into the skies
To converse with the birds and
Then rock me to sleep.
