Friendship - 6
Misunderstanding: The entrance
to the world of true friendship

Misunderstanding is an important aspect of friendship, but more than that, Trust is of value. There is a hard controversy over interlinking of Misunderstanding and Trust. Many say that there is no trust where there is misunderstanding and if there is misunderstanding there is no trust.

I disagree to it. I say, There can be misunderstanding where there is trust and there is double trust where there was a misunderstanding.

Sometimes, misunderstanding occurs where there is trust because of trust itself!

As we trust someone, we take few things for granted and often this leads to misunderstanding.

I know an incident, which took place in my life. I still remember it so well! It was a horrible experience but it was the beginning of a true friendship. I played a prank over the phone, with my friend, through somebody else. As soon as the line was disconnected, my friend called me up! I had taken her for granted and didnt know that I will hurt her feelings. I told her that it was me who had played the prank. She was surprised and at the same time she was hurt, because she did not expect me to do such a thing. She knocked the phone on me. I was damn upset over the matter! I felt miserable because of the misunderstanding. I called her up again and apologized.

Next day she handed over a letter to me, which said that she realized that day that she trusted me a lot or rather, as she puts, I realized that I had started trusting you a lot.

That misunderstanding was the entrance to the world of true friendship.

Though that misunderstanding was an unnecessary one, it helped us to come closer. We realized the depth of our friendship because of that incidence.

Because of that days incidence, I never took her for granted. I trusted her from the beginning; she started trusting me, this I came to know because of that misunderstanding.

Thus,
Misunderstanding, if can be avoided is better because it is painful,
But if it does occur, do not feel that there is no trust.

Personal opinion :
Misunderstanding helps you to understand few things, which are not understood by itself.
