Question 975
Dear Michael, I have a query for which a remedy is requested. My father bought a plot with its south-western corner is less than 90 degrees. He constructed a nice house. But during construction I had a near fatal surgery which left me paralyzed. Although I am recovering still its far from my earlier position. I am a MBBS graduate and a astrologer told me its something to do with Vastu.
– Sangeetgirdhar, June 15, 2006

Vastu does not favor remedial activities. However, your property would need to be thoroughly reviewed before any definitive comment could be made. Your astrologer, unless he is a Vastu expert, should not be making general remarks about your site. There are many factors that need to be considered and your problems may not be related to a Vastu defect at all. You need to have a professional consultation with myself or another Vastu expert. – Michael Borden, July 6, 2006

Question 974
Sir, I am in a predicament here. We are trying to buy a house but the problem is I have 2 entrances to the house. The house South and north facing south being the main door to the house and north being the garage of the house. I as a owner would always come into the house from the north side that is because of the garage. I cant seem to decide if this is the right house or not as it has pool in the back and that would be the water reserve in the north but while entering from the main door I enter facing north inside the house and exit south out of the house. Please help.
– Ikshet Singh, June 14, 2006

This requires a detailed analysis of the house plan and the site plan. North entry is fine. Center south entry in not recommended. – Michael Borden, July 6, 2006

Question 973
Sir, I am working in Lagos, Nigeria , as the Head of Import. Kindly let me know what will be my sitting position in my office. Door - towards west, sitting - facing south.
– S. Mukherjee, June 14, 2006

Face east or north when working. – Michael Borden, July 6, 2006

Question 972
Hi Michael,
I have recently purchased a row house that has the entrance facing West in the suburbs of Mumbai, India. I will be moving into this house around April 07. On the ground floor we have: The main gate towards North West, The main door North of centre, The Kitchen in the South East, The Pooja room North East, Master Bedroom South West, Guest Room North West. On the first floor we have: A large open terrace in the West, Behind the terrace are two bedrooms with attached baths - one in the North East and the other in the South East. There are other row houses towards the East (back of our house), South and North (on both sides of our house). The West has a road. On the other side of the road are apartment blocks. The Land slopes from South to North and East to West. My wife (45 yrs.) and me (50 yrs.) are MDs well placed in our professional spheres. My elder daughter is studying medicine and the younger daughter is studying computer engineering (both are academically sound). Is this Ok or needs some corrections - any advice will be most appreciated.
– Surendra Shastri, June 14, 2006

In general, this house is fine on the first floor for a non-Vastu structure. But, Do not rely on it to be in anyway compliant with Vastu requirements. Sleep with top of head to east or south. Cook facing east. – Michael Borden, July 6, 2006

Question 971
Our house is a corner plot of 52- in north south and 40 in east west direction. It has two roads one is in south and the other is in west. Is this going to harm anyway to the family? If so the remedy for the same.
– Latha Najaiah, June 14, 2006

Information on house facing and floor plan and orientation and gates is need. – Michael Borden, July 6, 2006
