Question 1100

I am planning to purchase a house and came across one house. That house has roads on three sides : East, north and West. The area of that plot is 500 yards. House is constructed by leaving more space in north and east. That plot is like L shaped i.e. 420 yards rectangle with 80 yards rectangle sitting at the north east corner towards the east side. The road on the east side is coming and hitting this 80 yards (i.e vedi sula). This 80 yards is blocking the east facing road, i.e its disconnecting the roads on east and north side of the plot. The house is constructed in the 420 yards plot. In Vastu they say that the veedi sula (dead end of the road) is good when road from south is coming and hitting the south east corner. for this plot, the 80 yards region is getting hit by the road on east side. i.e the L shape top region is getting hit. Can this be considered as the vedhi sula on south-east corner by road hitting on south side. Can we remove that 80 yards and make it a house with 420 yards with roads on east, north and west. In this case, that 80 yards will be on our name but we leave that space for road. will it have any effect on us as that 80 yards plot is on our name even after leaving that plot for the road. Please let me know your valuable suggestion.

would need a plot map to review this properly. Vastu Science is an exact one. However, in general, you would create a Vastu compound for your Vastu house and if the road is not coming at either of these there should be no problem. Get a detailed consultation on this. – Michael Borden, March 26, 2007

Question 1099
Why is it unfavorable to have a bathroom in the northeast of the house?
– Ari, January 09, 2007

Northeast corner is for the Gods. It's the place to meditate and do worship. Not a good place to cleanse the body. – Michael Borden, March 26, 2007

Question 1098
Sir,
We booked a flat in 1st floor and our flat entrance is facing north, master bedroom in south west, kitchen in south east. The building is in rectangular shape and facing east. As the flat is facing north they have given balcony south facing. Is it ok? All the north facing flats are facing south balconies only. This is a three bedroom flat. Any suggestions sir please advise. Thank you very much for your guidance.
– Lakshmi, January 7, 2007

IN general, you flat sounds ok.  However, it is very difficult to apply Vastu principle to an existing flat. You can't treat it as an individual only, you need to consider the whole building configuration also. You must verify the REAL building orientation, not just roughly figure that it faces east or some such direction. In general, the facing of a door can be ANY direction of the cardinal points, BUT, it MUST be properly located. Just to have an east facing door does not solve the problem. It must be auspiciously located. Master bedroom in south west is good, but it must be located within the whole context of the group of flats also. The same goes for all the room locations. Don't worry about the facing of your interior doors, it is completely insignificant in this case. Unless they are properly designed and constructed, with gaps between the walls of the individual flats, these type of modern buildings create a situation where there is no vibrational separation between families. – Michael Borden, March 26, 2007

Question 1097
Interested to learn Vastu. Any correspondence course offered by you?
– Shiva Kumar, January 04, 2007

The materials available at these two links on my website (http://www.vastu-design.com/dvd.php and http://www.vastu-design.com/seminar.htm) are very helpful in terms of learning about Vastu Science. Also, my teacher, Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati offers training once a year in Chennai. Contact him at vaastuved@gmail.com. – Michael Borden, March 26, 2007

Question 1096
We have taken a house and I want to know some things like where should be the temple & where should be the wealth in the house so we start the renovation.
– Mrunal Upadhyay, January 02, 2007

If you want to do renovations in terms of Vastu, it is difficult. Room placement can be considered. Gods can go in the NE. Wealth area can be in north. But just room location is not really effective for Vastu requirements.  – Michael Borden, March 26, 2007
