Workshop # 9
Behind The Painting

Behind the painting I see,
People saying a silent plea
Lord please, let there be no war
Innocent lives lost.. What for?

Behind these mountains I see,
People in thousands trying to flee
In fear of combat and of strife
Holding on to dear life

Behind the canvas I see,
People longing to be free
Free from the chains of "holy war"
Free from the claims of fanatics of God
To them life means peace and love,
Not missiles & bombs falling from above.

Behind this image, I also see,
People of types 1, 2 and 3
"1" who spread terror
Through Kamakazi and weapons
"2" who die to save fellow humans

Type 3 are mom, dad and child innocent
Who loose loved ones,
bear the undeserved brunt

Yet, behind this work of art I see
A sun that'll rise soon
To let freedom be
After all sacrifices, evil will fail
A new world will emerge
Where peace, love and green
shall prevail!
