Workshop # 15
How come your skull is so fair ?. Don’t try to fool me ok? And don’t think after death one will forget everything. You were my close friend and I remember you were much darker than me. As dark as a charcoal. Don’t you remember, you tried to dip yourself in the white paint our master kept for painting, thinking you can change your color. I still remember the fights we used have over the topic who is handsome? You used to feel complex when going out with me to eat our favorite mango fruit. By the way, did you do some plastic surgery or like before dying? Hmm.. can’t say anything. These days anybody can do anything. But no.. You did not have enough money to afford a plastic surgery. You did not even have the money to buy a small PONDS. You used to take mine. But then how you became so fair..? Let me use my brain…Ohhhhh, now I got it...now I understood what might have happened. Our master might have painted your skull with white paint. Oh... how stupid of me to misunderstand... And why didn’t I think of that possibility... Kick me... that is why these people call idiots ‘hey monkey’. One cannot blame them. Isn’t it? Just see, I have been pondering over this for half an hour and only now I found the reason. Oh... leave it. But why did he paint only you? These human beings are always partial. They do not care the feelings of animals like us. Stupid...Idiots… I am fed up of being a monkey first, and even more of this coffee brown color. And you see my master has put me in his reading room as a decoration piece for everyone to see. He thinks everybody will appreciate his aesthetic sense. Stupid! Hmm… Anyway, I am happy that he placed your skull in my hand. You used to boast of your strong, large brain and your intellectual abilities when I used to tease you of your complexion. Didn’t you? Pooh…Pooh.. Now that great ‘Einstein brain’ of yours is in my palms. See the play of destiny!!! Remember, I used to tell you,’ Each monkey has its day’. At least now, I can feel proud that ‘you are in my hand’. See, I am in a throne and you are in my hand. Now that we are together again, let us start observing people who visit our master’s library and start imitating them – the old hobby of ours which gave us much fun!!! – Jyothi Lakshmi
