Ocean of Love

Come, my precious, my
heart’s delight
Let me hold you while yet I might.
My eyes beckon, dive deep into my soul
Wade and frolic in the vastness of my love
An ocean more rich and tranquil you will not behold.
Its lulling waves will cushion your innocence
Their gentle rocking will inspire strength divine
To embark boldly on a voyage lonesome...
Out of my reach, beyond my loving grasp
On life’s quirky, tempestuous expanse.
Trustingly cocooned in my passionate embrace
All your little heartbreaks and tears immerse
In the nectar of my infinite adoration
That you may life’s sweetness fully savor
Until firmly poised its bitterness to flavor.
Childhood is fleeting, youth impatient –
Time glides faster than the ebbing tide;
With adolescent nonchalance and flamboyant élan
You will sail off from your mother’s craving arms,
So beloved child, let me hold you while I might.
