Santosh Alex Poet,Writer and Multilingual Translator, born in 1971 in Kerala. He has a Ph.D. on the poetry of K. Satchidanandan and Kedaranath Singh from VIT University, Chennai. He has a poetry collection ( Dooram 2008 ) in Malayalam. His poems has been translated into Hindi, English, Telugu , Nepali and Odiya.  His poetry have appeared in Hudson View (South Africa ), Best Poems Encyclopedia (New York),The Single Hound (USA,)Rahapen (Norway ),The Enchanting Verse and Indian Ruminations.  Poem published in Sunrise from Blue Thunder- An International Anthology edited by Ami Kaye. He has been featured as the poet of the month by Single Hound – Literary Journal from USA. during September 2011. His Hindi poems have been published in Janpath, Margdarshak, Vagarth and Lau.

He was an invited as a poet for the 2012 schedule of Hyderabad Literary Festival . He was an invited poet at Young writers Seminar conducted by Sahitya Academy in Vijayanagaram during 2011 and was also invited as a translator during 2009 for the Translation Literary Skills organized by Sahitya Academy and British Council.


Dr. Santosh translates post colonial literature in English, Hindi and Malayalam. He’s enriching Indian Literature by means of translation for the past 16 years and has introduced more than 50 writers from five different languages to English, Hindi and Malayalam . He has 9 books in Hindi and One in English in translation which includes Shuruateim (poetry of K Satchidanandan), Dehanthar (poetry of Savithri Rajeevan), Samakaleen Malayalam Kahaniyam (Hindi translation of Malayalam stories) , Aligarh ka kaidi (short novel of Punathil Kunhabdullah.) and kavita ka girna (Travel poems of K.Satchidanandan) His other translations are Shelter from the rain (English translation of Hindi poems of Ekant Srivastava) and Kavita ke Paksh Mein Nahin. ( Hindi translation of Jayant Mahapatra’s poems ) Khamosh muhurth man ( Hindi translations of Malayalam poems of A. Aiyappan ). His blog is the first Indian blog devoted for the translation of poetry alone.  He has received the Pandit Narayan Dev Puraskaar 2004 and “Dwivageesh Puraskaar ” ( National Award for Translation ) by Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad, New Delhi during 2009.
