Mrs. Kamla Joshi, born in Almora in 1919, had her schooling at Almora in a Missionary School. She was brought up in an orthodox family of Brahmins. She did her graduation from Bareilly in 1939 and got married in 1940. Her husband late Mr. G.K. Joshi was a Civil Servant. Mrs. Joshi is a voracious reader and enjoys reading the latest novels, including those of Amitav Ghosh. This is her second piece of reminiscences. The first one was about Mahatma Gandhi's visit to Almora in 1929, recently published by a magazine Orbit. Currently she is trying to pen down the Gandhi assassination episode and emotions involved. She lives with her son V.K. Joshi, who writes regularly for boloji.com.
