Dr. Uma Asopa

Dr Uma Asopa is a pediatrician by profession. A mother of two daughters she lives in India with her husband. A Rajasthani by origin she is settled in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat.

Poetry to Uma is a conversation she uses to address the subtle and the unheard, a canvas to paint the extraordinary in the day to day. She has been writing poetry from early college days both in English and Hindi. Relationships, nature and animals are her favorite subjects.

Her poems have appeared in online publications like Poetic Voices, Slow trains, Lily Literary review, Poetry Billboard, Poetry repair shop, Epiphany magazine and Spillway Review.

Selected as Poet of the Week
on December 25, 2005, on April 1, 2007 and again on August 10, 2008.
