Reality and Practicality

Life is hard and it surely too is limited,
We generally feel nicer to quote it as the “bed of roses”
We generally love to recall the good time, the memories of the past....
...The vivacious moments already spend with the loved ones.

Pain is however, there too,
Where? We don’t know,
Repression and suppression are it’s favorite places,
But,
Still it continues to be part of the beautiful flower,
Just like that bright green prickly thorn along the delicate blossomed rose flower.

Unconscious and Conscious are very different,
Because, probably Conscious is weaker and Unconscious stronger,
Because, Conscious is ‘practicality’
But,
Unconscious is ‘reality’ of our lives,
Very different, very painful- the seat where broken hearts, unexpected stories and
Incomplete episodes, which yearn for “why”, suffice...those dark tunnels seem unending.

“Dreams are described as the royal road to the Unconscious” by Freud,
But,
Then what should I do when I don’t dream also,
Still I continue to live my past,
The shadow of it is always with me as if it were my best school companion,
Walking hand in hand, together always...

What choice should one then make?
Be Practical or be Real,
I choose to have a combination where both, reality and practicality are present,
The decision is difficult, some say “what about instincts/ inborn feel”
Well, they too are living...not dead yet,
The hope is there and this debate
between practicality, reality and instincts will never find an answer I know...
But,
I’ll remain real and practical
so that the times to come are more real, more practical and less painful!
